WHAT IS COMMITMENT?
Commitment is a choice to invest ourselves in something, wholeheartedly and consistently.
WHAT IS CHRISTIAN COMMITMENT?
Christian commitment is the dedication of our entire being (our thoughts, words, and actions) to following Jesus Christ. It's a lifelong journey of obedience and love for God, expressed through our actions
EXAMPLES OF CHRISTIAN COMMITMENT
- Commitment to Prayer – (Prayer Chain, Prayer Meeting, 7 Hours Prayers). Luke 18:1, 1 Thess 5:17
- Commitment to daily Bible study. Joshua 1:8, 2 Tim 2:15, Psalm 119:105
- Commitment to Active participation in a church Activities (Hebrews 10:24-25)
- Commitment to Sharing the Gospel (Evangelism). Rom 1:16, Matthew 28:19-20
- Commitment in Tithing, Offerings and seed Faith. Gen 8:22, Mal 3:8-10
BENEFITS OF HAVING STRONG CHRISTIAN COMMITMENT:
- Deeper relationship with God. James 4:8, John 14:21
- Peace and joy in the midst trials. Rom 8:28
- Spiritual growth. Acts 20:32, Jude 1:20
- Spiritual Victory. 1 John 5:4, Rom 4:18-20, James 5:17
- Positive influence on others. Matthew 5:16
- Earthly and heavenly rewards. Matthew 6:19-20, Matt 19:28-29, 1Cor 11:1
HOW TO DRAW STRENGTH FOR COMMITMENT
- Constant Personal and corporate Prayer. Lk 18:1 Lk 22:42-43, Jude 1:20, Phil 4:6-7
- Study the Bible. 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Matt 4:4
- Obedience to the Word of God. Matt 7:24-25
- Fellowship constantly with other believers. Proverbs 27:17
- Abstain from all appearance of Evil. 1Thess 5:22, 1Cor 9:27
- Rely on the Holy Spirit. Rom 8:11, Eph 3:16, Galatians 5:16
