WHAT IS CONVICTION?
Conviction is a firm belief or persuasion that something is true or right. It is a deep-rooted assurance that guides our thoughts, actions, and decisions.
WHAT IS CHRISTIAN CONVICTION?
Christian conviction is the unwavering belief in the truth of the Christian faith, as revealed in the Bible. It is the certainty that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, our Savior, and the only way to eternal life. Christian conviction encompasses a steadfast commitment to the teachings of Christ, a willingness to live according to His principles, and a readiness to stand firm in the face of opposition or temptation.
EXAMPLES OF CHRISTIAN CONVICTION
The following are examples of Christian conviction
- Belief in the deity of Jesus Christ. Phil 2:6 1 John 5:7, John 14:6, 1Cor 12:3
- Commitment to sharing the Gospel with others. Acts 20:24, Rom 1:16
- Commitment to Prayer. Daniel 6:10, Acts 6:4
- Rejection of sexual immorality, (adultery, premarital sex, and homosexuality). 2 Tim 2:19. Dan 1:9
- Emphasis on love, forgiveness and grace of God. Rom 8:38, Rom 5:8
IMPORTANCE OF HAVING STRONG CHRISTIAN CONVICTION
- It strengthens our relationship with God: Rom 4:3.
- It provides moral guidance. Ps 119:9&11.
Christian conviction serves as a compass, guiding us toward righteous living and decision-making.
- Having strong convictions empowers us to stand firm in the face of opposition, temptation, and persecution. Rom 4:18-22
- It sets an example for others. 1Tim 4:12, 15-16

Developing and maintaining Christian conviction is a lifelong journey that requires diligent study of God's Word, consistent prayer, and a willingness to surrender our lives to Christ.
