INTRODUCTION
Trusting God is a choice that leads to a life of peace, joy, and purpose. While challenges may arise, we can overcome them by focusing on God, striving for His wisdom, and relying on His promises.
In this second part of our Bible study on "Trusting God," we will address common obstacles preventing us from growing in trust, steps to overcome these challenges, and also look at the Benefits of trusting God.
- HINDRANCES TO TRUSTING GOD
- Unbelief. Matt 17:20, Mark 9:23-24
- Anxiety, doubt, and worry. Mark 4:18-19. Matthew 6:25; Philippians 4:6-7.
- Discouragement and frustration. Prov. 13:12
- Ignorance. Isaiah 5:13; Hosea 4:6
- Impatience. Job 14:14
- Fear. Matt 14:30
- Discontent. 1 Timothy 6:6, Heb 13:5
STEPS TO CONQUER BARRIERS TO TRUSTING GOD
- Renewing our minds through meditation on scriptural truths. Col 3:16; Rom12:2
- Confessing sins, receiving forgiveness, and embracing restoration offered through Christ. 1 John 1:9; Colossians 1:13-14
- Encouraging ourselves in the Lord by reminding ourselves of past victories and blessings .Joshua 1:5, 9; Judges 6:12-16
- Remembering that God uses adversity to refine and strengthen us. James 1:2-4
- Focusing on eternity rather than temporary circumstances.2 Cor 4:16-18,Heb 11:13-16
- Peace. Isaiah 26:3
BENEFITS OF TRUSTING GOD
When we trust in God, we experience peace and calm, even in difficult circumstances.
- Guidance. Prov 3:5-6,
- Protection. 2 Timothy 4:18
- Strength. Ps 46:1, Ps 28:7
- Hope. Heb 13:5, 2 Cor 1:20
- Joy. 1 Peter 1:8, John 15:10-11
- Eternal Life. John 3:36, 14:1-3
CONCLUSION
Developing deep, abiding trust in God requires intentional effort and commitment, but the result is produce unspeakable joy, peace, and intimacy with God. May we continually seek ways to grow closer to God so that our trust in Him might flourish in Jesus Name.
