CHRISTIAN CALLING Part 2
THE PURPOSE OF OUR CALLING
INTRODUCTION:
Every believer in Christ has been called with a purpose. God did not save us just to occupy space on earth; He called us to live meaningfully, glorify him, and to fulfill his divine assignment. In Matt. 28:18-20, God's divine assignment for us, is to make disciples in every nation. This enormous responsibility involves preaching, counselling, encouraging, evangelizing and many other tasks and these tasks can only be fulfilled if we work together as a Body.
HOW TO DISCOVER YOUR CALLING
- Through prayer, fasting, meditation, worship and praise, reading and studying Gods word. Acts 13:1-4, Acts 6:4
- Through burden and passion. Rom. 10:1-2, Phil. 1:21-23.
- Through the influence of connectivity and service to a servant of God in the ministry.
THE PURPOSE OF CHRISTIAN CALLING
- To fellowship with God through Christ Jesus. 1 Cor. 1:9, 1 John 1:3.
- To fellowship with other believers in the Body of Christ. Acts 2:42, Heb. 10:25.
- Global Evangelism through Intercession prayers, giving and person involvement.
- Mentorship (teaching and training) and multiplication of Disciples. Eph. 4:11-13, 2 Tim. 2:1-2.
- Excellence service to one another in the church to Christian and non-Christian with the intention of edification, encouragement and conversion.
CONCLUSION:
Every believer has a unique purpose in God's plan. Recognizing your purpose is not about chasing titles, positions, or fame but in aligning with God's will. 2 Pet. 1:10
The calling of God may stretch you, but it won't confuse you. When you are in the centre of your calling, you will sense divine peace, even in trials. Col. 3:15. If you are restless and unfulfilled, it's a confirmation that you are outside God's calling for your life.
