CHRISTIAN CALLING
INTRODUCTION
WHAT IS CHRISTIAN CALLING?
It can be defined as deeply personal invitation from God to live a life devoted to Him and His purpose. It encompasses both a general call to salvation and a specific call to a particular role or service within the Christian community and the wider world. All believers in Christ belong to one body: all are united under one head, Christ himself (1Cor. 12:12-26).
- PUBLIC OFFICE CALLING.
Eph. 4:11, 12, 1Cor. 12;28, Acts 13:1
Public office means those areas of services which are easily noticed by all within the body. We can describe them as pulpit related calling. .e.g
a. Apostles
b. Prophets
c. Evangelists
d. Pastors
e. Teachers
f. Administrators
g. Special services like Singers, Potters, ushers, builders, etc.
2. PRIVATE OFFICE CALLING. Rom. 12:6-8
These are areas of service or callings which are not so publicly noticed. For example: Givers, Counsellors, Intercessors, Prayer warrior. They are very important and significant. They include the calling of:
a. Givers
b. Counsellors
c. Intercessors
d. Prayer Warrior
e. Youth Ministers
f. Children Ministers
g. Charity
